A Must-Try Cheese: Gorgonzola Dolce

Gorgonzola Dolce is a delicious young blue cow's milk cheese from Italy. Unlike other blues, it's aged for two months and has a delicate, supple yet buttery paste that is mild and slightly sweet in flavor. It has a subtle peppery bite and is a lot less pungent than Gorgonzola Piccante and Roquefort. Gorgonzola Dolce is one of those cheeses that you might fall in love with after one bite. I like to serve it as an after dinner cheese with a dessert wine like Moscato. The wine brings out the natural sweetness of the cheese and is a delightful contrast to the light piquancy of Gorgonzola Dolce. Have an awesome weekend!

  2. Oh my gosh, this sounds amazing. For the longest time I was anti-blue cheese, but as I've gotten older I've come to appreciate it, sparingly. I think a milder blue cheese like this would be right up my alley!

  4. I'm not a blue cheese person myself, but wow how you describe it, it sounds fantastic. Next time I'm at a party and they serve a blue cheese you know I'll be sneaking a peak at this post!
